in case you’re wondering…
We’ve been pretty quiet lately, as we’ve been locked away recording demos for an album. It’s a lot of hard work but I think we’re all very pleased with how it’s coming along.
If you want to hear some new songs and see what we’ve been up to, we’re playing a gig this Saturday 18th at the Wine Cellar, with the very talented MatthewSleep and our friend Jonathan Morgan telling some jokes.
I’ve heard a lot about Orchestra of Spheres, but this is the first song i’ve actually heard. Nice. Also, very jealous that they’re playing alongside Battles and many other great bands at ATP.
Things I did when I was supposed to be writing an essay
1. Drew eyes on the palms of my hands and pretended to be the guy from pan’s labyrinth.
2. Read the entire story of the half-life games.
3. Declared the cat video meme youtube trend (whatever you want to call it) dead. Later changed my mind after seeing ‘kitten crash test’ (worth your while).
4. Actually started researching the essay.
5. Trawled through at least 5 pages of reddit.
6. Trawled through many pages of other forums, most of them really bad.
7. Started the essay.

Panda Bear - “Song For Ariel” - Live at Governor’s Island
I’ve really been enjoying this song a lot. From what i’ve read it’s an early version of ”Guy’s Eyes” from Merriweather Post Pavillion, but it fits into the Panda Bear canon so nicely with that hypnotic groove.
Also it reflects well on the original sample - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yy6Eg9Rbi8k - the performance of the song is so solid, something we’ve all been thinking about lately in the a.g.’s camp.
